Diana Samuel, MD is a board-certified, dual fellowship trained psychiatrist in New York City. She creates individualized treatment plans that are tailored for each patient, combining medication and therapeutic modalities, with a focus on current research and best practices. Dr. Samuel has a collaborative approach with family and other providers. She is warm, compassionate, engaging and empathic drawing from her extensive training and experience with patients and loved ones to help patients navigate internal and external challenges. She aims to create a partnership with her patients and create a safe space to explore and develop insight which might help bring comfort to patient’s lives. Dr. Samuel combines evidence-based treatments to provide a holistic approach to every patient that includes a combination of medication, therapy, diet and exercise.

Dr. Samuel is currently available exclusively by telepsychiatry for patients in New York on an outpatient basis but plans to have her discrete and welcoming private practice office in Midtown West in Manhattan.

Education/Training

Dr. Samuel completed her residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center and fellowships at Columbia University’s College Of Physicians and Surgeons. She served as a full-time faculty member at Columbia for the last 7 years where she treated patients in both the emergency room as the Associate Director of the CPEP (psychiatric emergency room) and in the outpatient setting, as well as supervised and taught residents and medical students. Dr. Samuel continues to remain on faculty at Columbia University Irving Medical Center as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry.
